| GRAPHIC DESIGN | How to Prepare Your File When preparing your file for a printer, be sure to include all fonts, images and artwork you used in your file. Placing all items within a folder helps keep it all together. Pagemaker and Quark programs have the ability to automatically collect all these items we need to print your job. In Pagemaker choose Utilities - Plug Ins - Save for Service Provider. In Quark choose File - Collect for Output. If your job is more than one color, print color separated proofs to make sure your job separates properly. If it doesn't separate correctly for you, it won't for us either and that can delay print time and incur additional charges to adjust your file.
Also, it's a good idea to provide hard copy by fax (860-290-6891) or mail (1330 Main Street, East Hartford, CT 06108) to assure that your finished piece will be just how you imagined. Fonts can be a problem within artwork if you forget to include them. This can be avoided if you convert fonts to graphics. Note: Once a font has been changed to a graphic, no edits to type can be done. |
